One of the things that can make you maintain very cheap auto insurance rates for long is staying accident-free. And how can you stay accident-free if you are NOT always alert whenever you are driving?
If there is one thing you must avoid while driving it is allowing distractions. If you notice that there's so much on your mind and you are the type who gets lost in thought, let someone else drive you. One moment of distraction could actually cost you your life. And if you survive, you'll have a lot of problems to deal with.
But even for those who consider themselves alert enough to get behind wheels, that alertness can be compromised if you make the mistake of choosing to multi-task while driving. Things like making and/or receiving calls should be discourage. But even if those where to be permitted, texting should never be allowed behind the wheel.
