My friend's pregnancy did not go so well. It was a huge surprise when she discovered that she was pregnant. Initially she was in two minds as she was gravely concerned that she could never return to work if she had the baby. Unfortunately her partner had walked out on her. We talked a lot about the baby and I offered to help her with the baby if she wanted to return to work. We spoke about other aspects which made me realize that having a baby is a huge commitment. I tried to get her interested in going shopping for breastfeeding bras and similar items, but she was so ill, she was house-bound. My pregnancy was a complete accident, but a pleasant one. I was kind of in shock at first, because we had not been trying to have a baby at the time. I was so shocked that I took 3 pregnancy tests and had the doctor tell me so before I really believed it. I was so excited though. I love children and could not wait to be a mom - and was shopping for maternitywear soon after hearing the big news. I had a pretty pleasant pregnancy. I had a few weeks of feeling nauseous in the mornings, but I never actually got sick. The best day of was the first time that I felt my son move. That little flutter. It really makes you realize that there is something living inside you. I really wanted to have a little girl so that I could dress her up in all of the cute little frilly dresses. At 4 months, I had to have an ultrasound, because I was measuring so big. They asked if I wanted to know the sex of the baby. I couldn't decide, but I finally said yes only to be a little disappointed-a boy. At first I was disappointed, but the ultrasound was so neat seeing a picture of him. The idea of a boy soon grew on me and now, after seeing the moodiness of some of my friends' girls, I wouldn't trade for a girl for anything. I never felt bad being pregnant. I ate very healthy and I walked 3 miles per day. I only gained 13 pounds and had a 9lb 2oz bouncing baby boy. Many women don't like being pregnant, but I actually enjoyed the time of being pregnant. Don't let other people's opinions influence you. Make up your own mind about how you feel during pregnancy.
