On Why I Love My Trail Running Shoes

I'm a bit of a shoe collector. I'm different in that I have a really wide variety - from gladiator sandals to wellington boots - due to my work, and my hobbies. One of my hobbies is to go hiking. Nothing makes me happier than getting out of the house or out of the office and out on to the trails. I used to go hiking with my friends all of the time but eventually yearned for something more. Then I heard about trail races and it sounded fun, so I tried one out. I was hooked. Racing through the forest or mountains? It was so cool. One problem was that my regular running shoes just weren’t doing the trick. I saw other racers wearing specialized shoes that seemed to have more grab on the sole of the shoe along with tougher looking midfoot support. The biggest problem I had run into on the trails was sliding around on the mud and stepping on hard, sharp rocks. I did some research and settled on some New Balance trail racer shoes. Not only are they tough and rugged, but they are lightweight and are comfortable when I am just kicking around town. I wear them everywhere!
