If you have a PPC Management company working on your PPC account, then you could find that they might own the search engine account. It is possible that they will open it up in their own name and keep ownership of it. This means that they can deal with everything themselves and do not hav et keep going through you.
However, it is a much better plan, if they leave the account as yours. This is because if you decide to change to a different company or start managing things yourself, they will close down the account and you will have to start everything again. Having access to the account allows you to see what keywords they were targeting and what negative keywords they were using. You will also have access to all of the statistics with regards to the details of the adverts such as how long they have been running and what the click through rates were.
Without this information, you will starting from scratch again and this could be costly and will be very time consuming.
Therefore when you are choosing a PPC agency, you will need to ask them whether they will allow you to have access to your accounts or not. If they do not, then it is probably best not to go with them. You may be able to negotiate with them though and have something written in to the contract, that they hand things over to you, when they are done, they give you the account. If they are confident in their abilities, then they should have no problem in agreeing to that with you anyway.
This is just one of a list of things that you should be thinking about when you are looking to take on a company to help you with PPC management.
